Class feedback 4- Filming

Well we're still watching each others filming. I've been giving my class mates feedback on what they can do to make their filming more effective and so far so good.

For example students have changed their idea to a pop video from a short film or from a trailer to a short film as they thought it would be ideal because of the filming they've got and feedback from our Media class.

Everyone knows what they are doing now and they have room for improvement :)

Class feedback 3- Filming

Today we spent our lesson looking at each others filming so far. So we got round each others macs and watched our class mates filming and editing. This was interesting as many of our ideas changed because of the feedback we got.

The feedback I got:
  • Use a charity logo at the end of the short film.
  • Make it into a raising awareness film.
  • Cut filming to a black screen and use statistics.
  • Watch Waterloo Road on Youtube, as there is an episode on a transexual which might help with characterisation.
  • Use the tripod for steady shots.
My class mates and tutor gave me advice on what I could include which was really helpful as I am more focused on what I need for my film and what other shots I could use.

Casting

I decided to hold auditions for the role of Shazad Zahid and the bullies. So I put up an event on Facebook and I got seven responses, two were for the role of Shazad who were confederation students in my school. I picked Atique Hussain who happened to be a Year 12 Drama student as I thought his audition was powerful. I got five responses for the bullies, who were close friends with Atique Hussain. I picked four of the five responses I got. However, I dropped one of the bullies as I thought four was too much. I also needed parents so I decided to use my aunty and uncle, unfortunately, my short film only had to last up to 5 minutes so I had to cut the parents out too. This is my event I put up on Facebook.

Class feedback 2- Blogs

The class feedback on blogs carried on as we watched more students blogs and progress. However, my tutor picked out a couple of students to show her AS Media class on how to use blogs. I was one of them.

I presented my blog out to the AS Media class and showed them how to update their posts, add personal information and change the design so it looks more personalized.  I also showed them the order of the blogs, as newest post is on top and oldest post is on the bottom. I instructed them on how to upload pictures, Youtube videos and other links on to their post to make their blog stand out.

I think presenting out my blog helped the AS Media students as they have a good idea on what to blog about but also helped me as I learnt more about Blogger.

Class feedback 1- Blogs

Today's lesson my Media class presented their blogs which was quite helpful as I know what to add to my blog. Also, by looking at what other Media students wrote in their blog we know each others progress. We gave each other feedback on what we can add to update our blog. With feedback from my class I successfully updated my blog so it looks up to date.
